About The Position

The Utility Technician supports station maintenance by performing work support activities including scaffolding, insulation, painting, door maintenance, facility maintenance, and tool room duties. The position works independently or as part of a team under direction from the Lead Maintenance Technician or Supervisor, making decisions within established operating procedures and guidelines. Work must be performed safely, without accidents, and in compliance with environmental permits. The position is based onsite in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain unescorted nuclear access.
• Ability to work different shifts and travel to various power plants.
• Previous power plant experience or industrial maintenance experience in HVAC, scaffolding installation and removal, or tool room work.
• Satisfactory completion of a Navy Nuclear program, or technical maintenance experience in the applicable field; alternatively, a two-year associate degree in a technical field or post-secondary trade school program; alternatively, a high school diploma and relevant industrial training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain buildings and grounds.
• Service and maintain doors, walls, windows, and lighting, and perform painting in the power block.
• Perform minor rigging, scaffolding, hoist inspections, and insulation/asbestos work.
• Perform labor supporting building and facility maintenance.
• Issue tools and test equipment and perform other tool room responsibilities.
• Operate a forklift as required.
• Perform work safely and comply with environmental permits.
