About The Position

Assists Lift Station Operator to meet Texas Commission Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations. Inspects and maintains water treatment plant systems, lift station, and sewer lines to ensure proper operations. Helps maintain plants to ensure they are in proper operating condition. Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on equipment and tools. Inspects and maintains lift station and pumps. Repairs and installs valves, plugs, pipes, lateral/drain lines, and sewer manhole rings and covers. Prepares and completes concrete work; conducts traffic control. Serves on-call for equipment-related emergencies. Performs related work as required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of chemicals and materials used.
  • Knowledge of welding.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of handheld tools and equipment, such as a sledgehammer, cutter, ratchets, measuring tape, or heavy bars.
  • Knowledge of plant equipment and operations.
  • Skill in mechanical operations.
  • Skill in critical thinking.
  • Skill in organization and time management.
  • Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
  • Ability to follow orders.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
  • At least three (3) months of general experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Must be able to function in a principle-based organization that has a culture built on character and core values.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in plumbing, mechanical repair, maintenance or labor work is preferred.
