About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Utility Superintendent to manage on-site construction activities and ensure successful project completion. The role oversees underground utility construction, including water, sewer, and storm drain systems, and supports safe, compliant, and effective site operations. The Utility Superintendent also leads site teams, coordinates with project stakeholders, monitors project performance and risks, and promotes continuous improvement. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 7 years of experience in construction and heavy civil, with a strong focus on underground utility work.
Proven experience as a Superintendent or experience as a Foreman.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.

Some college or vocational education preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise and manage on-site construction activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
Oversee installation and construction of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
Ensure proper use of trench safety systems, including trench boxes, shoring, and benching.
Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project success.
Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and analyze project performance, including cost, schedule, and quality.
Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Provide leadership and mentorship to site teams.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in site management practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
