About The Position

This position requires maintaining qualifications in three classifications: Vehicle Photography, Inspection, and Check-in. Daily work requirements will depend on current business needs and may change multiple times during the day. The role involves inspecting customer vehicles for damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems, writing electronic condition reports (ECR), and documenting vehicle condition for processing and sale. It also includes preparing vehicles for Internet viewing with digital pictures and condition reports, following client and Manheim Inspections instructions, and conducting OVE courtesy walk-around inspections. A commitment to safety and following safety procedures is essential. The role also involves setting up and maintaining an auction site image booth, operating camera and equipment to capture vehicle images, transferring images into vehicle condition report format, and ensuring cameras and imaging equipment are maintained. Taking and uploading digital photographs of vehicles and performing self-audits for image quality are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the role includes inputting accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer, affixing barcode/stock number stickers on vehicles, directing transporters to proper car drop zones, and taking digital images of vehicles upon receipt. Performing other duties as assigned, including assisting on sale days, is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma/GED.
  • Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks, manual dexterity.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge.
  • Familiarity with unibody and full-frame vehicles.
  • Good organizational skills needed.
  • Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction required.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat or kneel.
  • Ability to lift and hold at least 10 lbs. at waist level for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in the automobile field (i.e., inspections, body/mechanic shop, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in photography preferred.
  • Experience in digital and computer processing a plus.
  • Basic computer software skills are preferred.
  • Certification or education in photography a plus.
  • Understanding of Baseline Inspections (Electronic Condition Report) & vehicle grading.
  • 1 – 3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience preferred.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.

Responsibilities
