About The Position

Under general supervision, the Utility Services Technician provides technical and data support for the Utilities Service Department. The posted pay range is the starting salary, and the pay rate offered is based on experience. This role ensures water and wastewater system quality and accuracy through field work and communication with contractors/vendors. The technician inspects and inputs various data into databases and systems, and may act as a subject matter expert for areas like CCTV repair, SCADA monitoring, line locating, parts inventory, cross-connection devices, work order systems, and web-based GIS solutions. The position also involves providing knowledge of city infrastructure and ordinances to ensure compliance with State Regulations and assisting other departments with services and support.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in utility services or a similar position.
• Valid Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to employment.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree education may substitute for work experience on a year-to-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring water and wastewater system quality and accuracy by field work, contractor/ vendor communication and direction.
• Inspects and inputs documents, reports, CCTV data and work orders to various databases and data collection systems.
• May serve as the technical and data support subject matter expert that may include but not limited to: CCTV repair, SCADA monitoring, line locating, parts inventory or cross-connection devices, work order systems, web-based GIS solutions.
• Providing knowledge of city infrastructure and ordinances to ensures proper compliance with all State Regulations.
• Assists other departments by providing services and support.
