About The Position

Sunstates Security is currently hiring Utility Security Officers in the Charlotte, NC area. The Utility / Flex Officer is an on-call officer position that covers posts as needed that are open due to call offs, staff shortages or client requested extra coverage. This position offers a pay rate of $19.75/hr - paid weekly. The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

Requirements

Must have open availability
Must be able to work independently.
Prior experience in security, military, and/or law enforcement.
Has a friendly and professional demeanor.
Must maintain reliable means of communication to be contacted by management.
Must have a valid driver's license
High School diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need.
While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule.
Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet.
If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.
For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called.
If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.

Responsibilities

Maintain detailed notes on all sites that they train at to provide seamless service to the clients when they must cover that post.
Keep track of time for post worked and submit to Operations Manager no later than 10:00 AM on Fridays.
Report all concerns and incidents to management.
Read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
Perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
