As a Utility Worker, your role will include cleaning equipment and work areas, including freezers, walk-ins, and high exposed areas such as ceilings, hoods, and fans. You will maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards. You will also occasionally assist Banquet Operating departments as a Kitchen Worker and perform all other duties as determined by Director of Catering or Stewarding Management. This role is responsible for cleaning all cooking devices such as deep fryers, grills, stoves, broilers, burner tops, steamer ovens, kettle-braisers, and hood panels. You will clean the dishwasher machine and check the temperature of the final rinse, utilizing proper techniques for health and safety standards. The Utility Porter receives equipment pull sheets 48 hours in advance from Banquet Services before equipment is gathered. The Master pantry is the central location where hollowware and silverware is cleaned, sanitized, and stored. The designated set-up employee reviews the pull sheets, then gathers the equipment to ensure Banquet Services receives the correct requested china, glass, and silver, which is put on a Queen Mary for viewing to be signed off by Stewarding and Banquet Services. The Utility Porter has to be ready to execute inventory in approximately 250 items at their respective location. This includes knowledge about sending and receiving packing, repair items with office services, and receiving and returning inventory items from and to the warehouse. The employee will have the ability to oversee about $3,000,000.00 and 70% of the inventory orders. The Utility Porter is part of the response team for biohazard clean-up and OSHA regulations.
