About The Position

Urgent Care for Kids by Goodside Health is seeking innovative Utility Players for their clinics who embody the company's core values: Passion, Humility, Adaptability, Nurture, and Experience. These clinicians, typically Certified Medical Assistants, Licensed Vocational Nurses, or Registered Nurses, are essential team players responsible for a wide range of duties to ensure smooth clinic operations. This includes front desk tasks like insurance verification and patient registration, as well as back-office care, triaging, radiology, and curbside labs. Utility Players are expected to be warm, humble, passionate about healthcare, and dedicated to providing 5-star care to patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Passion for children
  • Experience working in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years and lasted at least 6+ months
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, NCMA, RMA)
  • LVN - TX License
  • BLS certification required (online renewal accepted by American Heart Association)
  • Knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA, basic clinical procedures, CLIA-Waived Testing, EMR software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients upon arrival
  • Communicate with the provider on duty regarding patient status and vitals
  • Document and summarize patient visits in the EMR system (eMDs)
  • Assist providers in procedures and patient care, including splinting, radiology, vaccines, medication administration, and phlebotomy
  • Administer and document medications as directed by the provider
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms
  • Obtain labs and notify patients of results
  • Provide patient education at the end of the visit and address follow-up questions
  • Position patients for radiology procedures and remove artifacts
  • Perform front office responsibilities including insurance verification, patient registration, answering phones, and processing monetary transactions
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
