About The Position

The Utility Pipe Layer is responsible for installing, aligning, and inspecting underground utilities such as water mains, sewer lines, storm drains, and other piping systems. This role involves working as part of a construction crew to prepare trenches, lay pipe to grade, and ensure proper connections that meet safety and project specifications. The pipelayer will also assist with keeping machines and equipment maintained, assist in clean-up of job site, and other duties assigned by the Foreman or other management.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Punctual and dependable.
Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
Able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.
Member of a Local Laborer Union, or willingness to become a union member.
Minimum 6 months experience in assembling and installing sanitary sewer pipe and manholes, water main, and storm sewer pipe and manholes.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Class A CDL strongly desired.
High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
3-5 years road construction laborer experience is preferred.
Knowledge of confined spaces, OSHA trenching and sloping is preferred.
