About The Position

This role provides support to the facility in various positions, performing different jobs within the warehouse or on the grounds as assigned. Responsibilities can include pallet sorting, restacking, identifying product that does not meet customer specifications, and rework and sanitation. The position requires active participation as a member of the team, fostering strong cohesiveness, and accepting responsibility to quickly identify and resolve issues. Team members are expected to be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understand their role in supporting these systems, including communicating concerns and improvement ideas. This position description is intended to guide activities and is not meant to limit creativity or describe all required work.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in a busy, noisy, dusty environment with temperature extremes.
• Must be able to work on feet for entire shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain company issued forklift certification.
• Basic math skills.
• Reading skills.
• Writing skills.
• Computer knowledge.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Military experience valued.
• Veterans are welcome to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Performs various jobs within the warehouse or on the grounds as assigned.
• Pallet sorting, restacking, identify product that does not meet customer specifications and rework and sanitation.
• Participates as a member of the Team.
• Fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues.
• Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
• Actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
• Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies).
• Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
