About The Position

Harsco Environmental is seeking an individual to join their team in Pittsboro, IN, for the position of Utility Operator. This role involves safely and proficiently operating equipment within a steel mill environment. The company provides material processing and environmental services to the global steel and metals industries, offering sustainable solutions and by-products for various applications.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience operating heavy equipment.
Must be alert and drug-free at all times.
Ability to climb in and out of equipment, which involves several steps and ladders.
May be required to shift gears manually.
Ability to work a 12-hour per day work shift, both daytime and nighttime.
Ability to work in all types of weather when outside of the vehicle.
Ability to work on uneven surfaces with loose materials when walking.

Responsibilities

Operate a front-end loader to feed the Metal Recovery Plant.
Load slag/scrap customer trucks.
Operate heavy haul/dump trucks around the job site.
Perform secondary duties based on business needs at management discretion.
May be reassigned to other large off-road mobile equipment.
May be required to perform manual laboring duties such as clean up and shoveling.
