About The Position

The Utility Operator ensures that finished product meets customer and In Process Controls (IPC) as dictated by customer specifications. This role verifies that packing, labeling, and plant load out to QDC meets all internal and customer requirements, and certifies that all customer requirements listed in the production schedule are met. This is a night shift position from 6 PM to 6 AM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to operate automatic and manual packers.
  • Ability to set bag weights.
  • Ability to operate bulk bag filling station.
  • Ability to operate forklifts.
  • Ability to assist operator in monitoring automatic pack out system.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Ability to service equipment.
  • Ability to clean the plant.
  • Must comply with all company and GMP/FDA rules and regulations and complete annual GMP training.
  • Ability to assist in ensuring top quality housekeeping is maintained.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs (constantly throughout shift if packaging).
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment where temperatures vary from extremely hot to cold, work in humidity and around various chemicals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety policy, SOP’s, SDS, Quality Manual and various production schedules/reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a tow motor is preferred.
  • Experience in a food or pharmaceutical environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining compliance with the Huber Sustainability Management System (HSMS), including air permits, wastewater permits, storm water permits, and other rules.
  • Ensuring compliance with MSHA, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Reporting all environmental, health and safety, and/or quality incidents or concerns to management.
  • Setting up pack out equipment configuration to meet production needs.
  • Operating and monitoring finished product pack out systems, ensuring bag weights are within specification (systems may be manual, automatic, or a combination).
  • Performing manual stacking as needed.
  • Conducting Mill service and Preventative Maintenance (PMs), and assisting Maintenance with minor equipment repairs.
  • Maintaining packaging supply inventory within the production facility.
  • Completing paperwork such as batch records, plant orders, sample bags, and lift truck inspection reports.
  • Stenciling product with customer information, repalletizing product, labeling, and scanning nonconforming product.
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly work area, warehouse, and outside of the plant following GMP guidelines.
  • Following all applicable company policies and safe practices.
  • Performing all duties assigned by the supervisor.
