Requirements

  • Basic math skills
  • Solid computer skills
  • Good English skills; Bilingual a plus
  • Experience with blown film extrusion
  • Ability to troubleshoot & solve problems
  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be punctual; at line on time
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Regularly required to stand, walk and communicate
  • Ability to see and hear
  • Regularly required to move up to 35 lbs.
  • Regularly required to stretch and bend
  • Frequently climb towers up to 35 feet high (cannot have fear of heights)
  • Regularly required to climb or balance

Responsibilities

  • Perform changeovers and complete changeover setup form
  • Arrange assistance for changeover
  • Responsible for the cleaning for blenders/material changes
  • Mix or oversee the mixing of resins in middle and small area
  • Complete paperwork for production sheet, labor log, scrap sheet and daily functional check sheet.
  • Make sure scrap gets weighed and recorded on shift paperwork
  • Set all secondary equipment (printer, punches, etc.) and test functionality
  • Watches for stack light alerts
  • Support and comply with all safety, food safety and environmental guidelines
  • Make machine adjustments as needed for Packer/Inspector
  • Call for medical assistance and apply first aid if trained
  • Complete maintenance request forms
  • Close orders in system
  • Watch rates and apply correct variance code in system
  • Collect, weigh and document all scrap; enter in system
  • Bill of Materials adjustments and corrections
  • Continue to check run rates.
  • Perform quality checks front to back (resins, silos, computer info., blender settings, etc.)
  • Ensure tools are in proper location
  • Ensure axillary equipment is in working condition (press, vents V-board, etc.)
  • Ensure the ink room is in proper order
  • Clean around extruders and blenders
  • Document any maintenance and safety concerns
  • Other duties as assigned
