About The Position

Janco is looking for a Utility Operator who is able run a variety of different equipment and help out in multiple areas of our metal manufacturing facility. This role is important to keep production running smoothly by stepping in where needed, operating machines safely, and helping team members across departments. The Utility Operator should be able to quickly learn and switch between tasks, follow safety rules, and make sure equipment is used correctly. Being flexible, paying attention to detail, and working well with others are key parts of this job.

  • Proficient in using measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, etc.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and sit, stand, bend, or walk for extended periods.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in operating equipment or in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computers or smartphones is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of production equipment safely and efficiently
  • Move between different machines and departments as needed to support production
  • Monitor machines during operation and report any issues or malfunctions
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning machines or checking for worn parts
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
  • Help load and unload materials or parts onto machines
  • Work closely with team members and management to meet production goals
  • Record basic production information, such as quantities or machine run times
  • Stay flexible and ready to help out wherever needed on the production floor.
