This experienced Operating Engineer works within a maintenance team that ensures compliant, accurate, and timely completion of corrective, emergency and preventive maintenance in support of biologics pharmaceutical manufacturing and research and development operation equipment. Complete corrective, preventive maintenance on all utilities equipment. The role involves operating and maintaining the utility plant, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, reverse osmosis, WFI stills, clean steam generators, air compressors, air handling units, refrigeration, waste neutralization, and clean-in-place systems. The position also requires handling chemicals, responding to off-shift manufacturing and electrical systems problems, and interpreting alarms. Responsibilities include monitoring equipment, performing cleaning, adjustments, testing, and preventive maintenance, identifying issues, implementing improvements with mentorship, participating in departmental projects, performing repairs with limited mentorship, and developing awareness of departmental operations. All duties must be carried out in compliance with company, state, and federal laws and regulatory guidelines, ensuring training remains current. The role also involves participating in PM development and optimization, maintenance projects (including Root Cause Analysis, FMEA’s, and Non-Conformance investigations), and demonstrating a willingness to learn new skills. Use of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Human Machine Interface (HMI) for supervising and fixing equipment problems is required. General building maintenance, including plumbing and pipefitting, and documenting all maintenance activities in CMMS are also key functions. Maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as valves, pumps, and utility systems are essential.
