About The Position
We're currently hiring for Full Time Meter Readers in Punta Gorda, FL! NO EXPERIENCE is required with paid training! If you consider yourself an independent worker and enjoy being outside, this job is for you! All of our field staff are provided with: Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc. Company Vehicle Paid Training Offering $20/hour but there is potential to earn more through piece rate! Benefits include medical and dental insurance, vacation & holiday pay, 401K plan with possibility of overtime paid at time and a half
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: drug test, background check, and driving record
- Must be able to walk up to 10-15 miles per day while reading meters accurately
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
- Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
Responsibilities
- Reading water meters and recording volume used by residential and commercial consumers to ensure accurate consumption and billing.
- May perform visual meter inspection to assess the condition and overall operation of the meter and note any visible defects or issues.
