About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Utility - Material Handler 2nd Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $27.90 + $2.50 shift premium per hour. The hours for this shift are; 3 pm - 11 pm. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree) is required.
  • Must know progression of B and C in Material Handling.
  • Minimum knowledge of one additional job within the East/West End.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills (i.e., verbal and written).
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting and materials set-up.
  • Knowledge of multiple positions within assigned area.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Eaton’s forklift licenses within the outlined training plan.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the gantry operating license within the outlined training plan.
  • Ability to read order process sheets and use a tape measure.
  • Familiarity with multiple computer systems, Order-Process-Sheet structure, and specific transformer terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of One (1) year of work experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics capacity.
  • Minimum of One (1) year of experience with issuing, receiving, and locating parts in SAP.
  • Minimum of One (1) year of experience with a forklift and other PIV’s.
  • Minimum knowledge of one additional job in both the East and West End.

Responsibilities

  • Assess departmental priorities and assist in adjusting work as needed. Control material flow within the plant. May schedule work in the absence of the Team Lead.
  • Report on Part-Shortage issues for Production Control. Generate ECR’s and DMT’s as required.
  • Assist new and transferring employees with procedures and standards expected in material handling operations.
  • Maintains accurate records, logs, and priority lists in all work centers within primary area assigned.
  • Receives parts from branch plants and vendors and locates them into stock locations.
  • Fills issue requests, which require functional use and application of bar code equipment and/or stockroom procedures.
  • Processes kit list and issues kits for Power Lead Assembly, Tanking and Final Assembly.
  • Collects, fills and delivers bins to production areas.
  • Fill in for material handlers whenever necessary and is responsible for ensuring operators are trained in Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) and/or Crane/Hoist training in the absence of the team lead.
  • Work assignments are performed by written or verbal instructions.
  • Responds to the manufacturing demands for issuing material and at the same time combines the storage of the in-flow of material from outside vendors and production departments.
  • Processes all tanking and power final kits with a high degree of accuracy and punctuality.
  • Operates narrow aisle fork trucks, hand trucks and other material handling equipment to deliver or receive materials.
  • Lifts and carry materials of various weights using individual judgment and asking for assistance when necessary.
