The Utility Maintenance Technician II performs skilled maintenance, repair, inspection, and preventative maintenance work on the City's lift stations. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of wastewater lift station equipment. The technician will install, repair, and maintain wastewater pumps, motors, valves, piping, controls, floats, and related mechanical equipment. Additionally, the role includes performing electrical troubleshooting and repairs involving motors, motor controls, starters, relays, float systems, and associated electrical components. The technician will monitor lift station performance using SCADA and other monitoring systems, respond to alarms and system failures, and conduct routine inspections to ensure proper operation and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities also include cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and servicing equipment, assisting with emergency repairs, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and performing grounds maintenance at wastewater facilities. The role requires operating various maintenance equipment and assisting with confined space entry operations. Identifying unsafe conditions and participating in on-call rotations are also key aspects of the position. The technician must maintain assigned tools, vehicles, and equipment, use appropriate PPE, follow safety policies, and maintain required certifications and licenses.
