About The Position

Perform manual tasks including general maintenance at a skilled level involved in the equipment used for the maintenance of water, lines and meter, and/or plants. May test water meters for accuracy and use SCADA operations in monitoring and maintenance of various water systems. Must display ability to work independently or with co-workers as a team as instructed. Must display good judgment and ability to assess situation. Works directly with customers in inspections with water and water quality issues. May be subject to call out service after hours. Working with co-workers as a team on daily and weekly household maintenance of water storage sites. Mowing and trimming around tanks and fences. On occasion, repair fence, paint pipes and buildings, and pump and motor maintenance. Perform pump and motor maintenance on a monthly routine or as assigned by dept. supervisor. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Works the assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience in construction trades such as concrete work, pipe work, electrical and general labor.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.
  • Class "D" Groundwater Operator license
  • Ability to acquire Groundwater "C" Operator license within 12-24 months of hire.
