About The Position

The purpose of this job is to ensure the efficient and reliable delivery of Drinking Water. Provides safe, good tasting, good quality drinking water customers in sufficient quantities and at a reasonable cost. Provides reliable equipment operations needed to accomplish this endeavor. Provides support services to other departments within the city's organization.

Requirements

High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
Four (4) years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair work, especially related to plant maintenance
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities

Responsibilities

Maintains operational condition of pumping assets needed to produce and move drinking water.
Replaces, repairs, plumbs, and maintains all piping needed
Installs new equipment
Diagnoses mechanical defects and makes appropriate repairs
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and plumbing systems
Maintains records and logs
Orders necessary parts and materials
Provides guidance, training and direction to less experienced mechanics and plant assistants
Performs related work as required
