About The Position

We are currently hiring experienced Full-Time Utility Locator Technicians in the Saint Paul, MN area, including Maplewood, Oakdale, and Little Canada. This role involves working outdoors under the direction of a company supervisor to visually inspect construction areas, interpret utility maps, and use specialized electronic equipment to locate and protect underground utilities such as gas, electric, water, and cable. The company is one of the largest meter servicing companies in North America, serving over 300 utility companies.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license (Must be able to present a physical Driver's License card, other documentation is not accepted).
Subject to random drug testing in compliance with DOT guidelines upon employment.
Must be able to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal work schedule.
Previous underground Utility Locating experience for Gas and/or Electric.

Nice To Haves

Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests.
Develop a general knowledge of state and local damage prevention regulations.
Learn and apply safety measures relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters.

Responsibilities

Perform visual inspection of predefined construction areas.
Read and interpret utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities.
Use special electronic equipment to locate and protect utilities (gas, electric, water, cable, sewer, etc.) from damage.
Work under the direction of a company supervisor.
