Utility Locating Area Manager - Western MT, State-Wide
About The Position
The Area Manager, Locate will be responsible for overseeing workload distribution, managing customer relations, and interacting with corporate, IT, and purchasing departments, as well as homeowners and the general public. This role also involves oversight of disciplinary actions, inspections of vehicles and equipment, inventory ordering, mentoring supervisors for performance improvement, assisting in damage resolution when necessary, interpreting reports (PDR, audits, production), and assisting in difficult locate jobs. The Area Manager must maintain force to load requirements and conduct performance reviews for staff.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free
- Computer literate
- Ability to locate
- Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation
- Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Experienced in effective leadership in the locating industry
- Excellent communications skills oral and written
- Comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement required
- Successfully complete company provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing
- Must have above average computer skills
- Three to five years’ experience
Responsibilities
