We are looking for experienced / non-experienced, men and women who are responsible, hardworking and reliable to join our team. A clear, valid driver's license is required and a CDL A or B is preferred. MUST be willing to TRAVEL. Position Summary To mix and apply herbicides in a utility ROW corridor safely and appropriately to control unwanted vegetation. To obtain and/or be able to study and pass the Registered Technician Exam given by the State of Indiana and then be able to study and pass the Category 6 ROW herbicide/pesticide exam. Ability to perform job duties outdoors and in hilly/woody/grassy terrain in all types of weather temperatures and conditions. Ability to carry and/or load herbicides of at least 20 pounds. Ability to read and understand herbicide labels and follow directions on mixing and applying herbicides safely and correctly. Ability to complete daily paperwork involved in pre-trip inspections, Job Hazard Assessments, and required herbicide application records. To wear all appropriate PPE determined by herbicide label. Ability to drive all-terrain vehicles for access purposes to utility corridors. Ability to pull hose through hilly/woody/grassy areas. Ability to identify appropriate vegetation to be controlled in any given utility corridor and to apply the herbicides correctly to vegetation. Knowledge and/or ability to identify and clean-up an unexpected herbicide spill quickly and safely. Depending on the application of herbicide, most of the time is spent applying from the spray truck, or spray buggy, but in windy conditions, the application is handled through dragging hose and spraying in closer proximity. It is a 2-person crew. One crew member must hold a CDL B, a certified spray technician and a spray assistant.
