Utility Line Clearance - Groundperson - (CDL Preferred)
About The Position
The Halter Group, established in 1982, is a growing tree trimming contracting company providing comprehensive services to clients. They pride themselves on delivering excellent service and value their employees. They are seeking responsible, hardworking, and reliable individuals, experienced or not, to join their team. A clear, valid driver's license is required, and a CDL A or B is preferred. This position will service the greater south-southwest Lexington, KY, and surrounding areas, with potential for some travel. The company is willing to invest in staff by assisting with obtaining a CDL B license for those committed to meeting timely goals and DOT requirements.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, and work outdoors in all weather.
- The ability to transport heavy items.
- Excellent balance and depth perception.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong commitment to safety and a desire to learn from experienced crew.
Nice To Haves
- CDL is a plus (pay incentive)
- Bilingual is a plus
- Experience with chainsaws/chippers preferred, but training is available for eager learners.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out all maintenance duties allocated by the Foreman with a safety-first mindset.
- Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions.
- Assisting Arborists with tree removals, pruning, and debris disposals.
- Learning techniques and the proper use of tools from senior or more experienced crew members.
- Safely using tools and equipment like chippers and chainsaws to carry out maintenance tasks.
- Ensuring all sites are kept clean and free of hazards.
- Inspecting equipment and tools and performing repairs and maintenance when required.
- Using the appropriate gear and observing safety protocols.
- Reporting any issues or safety hazards to the Foreman or other relevant parties.
- Perform general groundskeeping duties as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
