About The Position

The Halter Group is seeking responsible, hardworking, and reliable individuals, experienced or not, to join their team as Utility Line Clearance Groundpersons. This role involves comprehensive tree trimming services for clients. The company is committed to employee growth, offering assistance with obtaining a CDL B license for eligible candidates. The position will service Vincennes, Terre Haute, Fort Branch, Sullivan, IN, and surrounding areas, with potential for some travel.

Requirements

Valid Driver's License
Able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, and work outdoors in all weather.
The ability to transport heavy items.
Excellent balance and depth perception.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A strong commitment to safety and a desire to learn from experienced crew.

Nice To Haves

CDL A or B is preferred.
Bilingual is a plus.
Experience with chainsaws/chippers preferred, but training is available for eager learners.

Responsibilities

Carrying out all maintenance duties allocated by the Foreman with a safety-first mindset.
Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions.
Assisting Arborists with tree removals, pruning, and debris disposals.
Learning techniques and the proper use of tools from senior or more experienced crew members.
Safely using tools and equipment like chippers and chainsaws to carry out maintenance tasks.
Ensuring all sites are kept clean and free of hazards.
Inspecting equipment and tools and performing repairs and maintenance when required.
Using the appropriate gear and observing safety protocols.
Reporting any issues or safety hazards to the Foreman or other relevant parties.
Perform general groundskeeping duties as needed.
Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
