Utility Inspection Technician

About The Position

As leaders in the utility industry, concentrating on quality and safety, RECONN is looking for people to join our team who are problem solvers, take pride in public safety, and are comfortable in a fast-paced, exciting work environment. The starting pay for this position is $24-$32/hr., depending on experience. New technicians will be moved to $25/hr. once fully qualified and working independently in the field and $26/hr. after reaching their first anniversary date. Instructor-led training will be provided. We are currently hiring throughout the Providence, RI area.

Requirements

Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
Proficiency with technology.
Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).
Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
Ability to use simple hand tools.
Ability to read a utility map.

Nice To Haves

Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
Customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsible for checking gas meters for leaks and corrosion.
Visual inspection and ensuring all required paperwork/data are completed.
Report to their respective work area on time at the start of each shift.
Identifying any abnormal operating conditions along with accurately filling out all forms associated with the inspection visit (the form may be electronic or paper).
