About The Position

This posting is for a potential future opening(s) with Entergy, serving as a candidate pool for when these openings become available. The Utility Foreman will supervise, coordinate, and assist in the construction and repair of both overhead and underground distribution systems. This role involves responding to and resolving customer issues professionally, providing leadership and training to personnel, and championing safe work practices to ensure compliance with Company Safety Rules and network goals. The position requires managing work orders, organizing tasks, and maintaining a positive attitude in challenging conditions. A strong attention to detail, with a focus on safety and accuracy, is crucial for directing construction/repair crews and efficiently restoring the electric system. Responsibilities also include assisting in network operations, storm restorations, operating AM/FM systems, and directing contract crews. The role demands motivating and influencing a diverse workforce on safety and training matters, and the ability to assume Line Supervisor duties in their absence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of line experience or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks.
  • Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong decision making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and dependable team player.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.
  • Ability to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assets.
  • Class A Commercial driver's license.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, and assist in the construction and repair of both overhead and underground distribution.
  • Respond to and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide leadership and training to line and service personnel.
  • Champion safe work practices and insure compliance to Company Safety Rules.
  • Work to insure network goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Manage all SO/SR/WR's in DIS/DSS.
  • Organize work and manage multiple tasks and inputs simultaneously.
  • Work with others and maintain a positive attitude in extreme working conditions.
  • Direct construction/repair crews safely and construct/restore electric system efficiently.
  • Assist in Network operations, storm restorations, and operation of AM/FM and directing of contract crews.
  • Motivate and influence a diverse and geographically dispersed work force dealing with a wide variety of safety and training issues.
  • Assume Line Supervisor's duties for a short time in their absence.
  • Be available to work additional hours, in alternate locations, and/or perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company.
