About The Position

This posting is for a potential future opening(s) with Entergy. This posting is to build a candidate pool, should the opening(s) become available. The Utility Foreman will supervise, coordinate, and assist in the construction and repair of both overhead and underground distribution. They will respond to and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner, provide leadership and training to line and service personnel, and champion safe work practices, ensuring compliance with Company Safety Rules. The role also involves working to ensure network goals and objectives are met or exceeded, managing all SO/SR/WR's in DIS/DSS, and organizing work to manage multiple tasks and inputs simultaneously. The Foreman must work with others and maintain a positive attitude in extreme working conditions, with a strong attention to detail focused on safety and accuracy to direct construction/repair crews safely and construct/restore the electric system efficiently. Additional duties include assisting in Network operations, storm restorations, operating AM/FM, and directing contract crews. The role requires motivating and influencing a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce dealing with a wide variety of safety and training issues, and the ability to assume Line Supervisor's duties for a short time in their absence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of line experience or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks.
  • Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong decision making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Self motivated and dependable team player.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.
  • Ability to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assets.
  • Class A Commercial driver's license.
