Metro Water Recovery in Denver, CO, a nationally recognized leader among clean water utilities, provides wastewater conveyance and treatment services for more than 2 million people in the Denver Metro area. This position is a multi-level posting and will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon the candidate's qualifications: Utility Equipment Operator I, II, III, IV, or V. Certification Incentives are available, including a hiring bonus and recurring annual incentive for specific certifications.

Requirements

Graduation from high school or GED required.
Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement (All Levels).
Collections System Operator Certification Class I (Level II).
Collections System Operator Certification Class II (Level III).
Collections System Operator Certification Class III (Level IV).
Collections System Operator Certification Class IV (Level V).
Knowledge of operation and maintenance of various types of powered equipment, hand, and power tools.
Knowledge of safety activities such as vehicle traffic control.
Skilled at operating powered equipment, hand, and power tools.
Ability to operate powered equipment, hand and power tools.
Ability to check and maintain proper fluid level and lubricate the moving parts and wearing surfaces.
Ability to read procedures, SDS precautions and other similar type documents.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and use measurement devices.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties related to the operation and maintenance of Metro’s interceptor system and wastewater treatment facilities (Levels I & II).
Independently performs skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and inspection of the interceptor sewer system and treatments facilities (Level III).
Performs skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and inspection of the interceptor sewer system and wastewater treatment facilities, exercising independent judgment and providing direction and training to lower classifications (Level IV).
Performs senior-level activities in the operation, maintenance, and inspection of the interceptor sewer system and treatments facilities, providing technical support, direction, and training, and functional leadership (Level V).
Operates and maintains various types of powered equipment, hand, and power tools.
