Utility Engineer - JLL What this job involves: The Utility Engineer plays a vital role in the facilities team, supporting the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and enhancements of the client’s site facilities. Coordinates and collaborates closely with the Facilities Managers and Chief Engineer. Maintain a consistent and professional on-site presence to support facility operations. Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, manage priorities effectively, and take initiative in daily tasks, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accountability. Follow protocol for effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedures, maintain on-going communication with contractors, client, and facilities management team, and assist with site inspection for client site. What your day-to-day will look like: The Utility Engineer is to perform the following duties under the direction of the Chief Engineer. Repairs on toilet facilities including soap dispensers, registers and radiators. Replacement of lamps and cleaning of light fixtures. Removing ceiling tile. Water filter replacements. Minor repairs on furniture and floors. Maintaining and/or replacing door hardware. Repair of floor maintenance equipment and venetian blinds. Maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers and other building facilities. Replacement of air filters in the H.V.A.C. equipment. General cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units. Cleanup of equipment in engine room and shop. Miscellaneous handy work requiring the limited use of hand tools. Monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and replace when needed. Cleaning of air vents and roof drains. Perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned. Maintains responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, contracted maintenance, general maintenance and technical proficiency. Support and collaborate with facilities team with as needed tasks and other building maintenance duties to ensure optimal facility operation. Supporting the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and enhancements of the client’s site facilities. Coordinates and collaborates closely with the Facilities Managers and Chief Engineer. Maintain a consistent and professional on-site presence to support facility operations. Safety: Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace. Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory. Monitor the quality of maintenance work performed by outside contractors. Execution of all other tasks assigned. Maintenance of the equipment will include cleaning, inspecting, and changing parts to maintain the Utility systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels. Prioritizes, coordinates, and promptly responds to work orders and service requests Maintains a positive relationship with all the members of the Facilities department and our site customers while promoting a positive team environment Review assigned service request and provided accurate details to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems. Verify the accuracy of maintenance data and information for the Preventative maintenance plans. Support team members as needed to conduct safe work practices Performs other related duties as required or requested. Attend mandatory trainings Complete Master Control trainings Perform monthly safety inspections/walks and submit 3 observations per month Help JLL staff, customers and vendors Maintains compliance with corporate, safety, security and regulatory policies

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems including life‐safety, lighting, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including CMMS Systems, Email, Word and Excel Skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, concise professional manner.
