About The Position

The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks an Utility Engineer for our City Club property. At The Olympic Club, our members enjoy 2 campuses, 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs as well as 18 hotel rooms and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. Our City Clubhouse is located one block from Union Square and within easy walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. Our Lakeside Clubhouse sits next to the ocean on the border of San Francisco and Daly City. Our Utility Engineers are members of Local 39. Scheduling is by position seniority with shifts assigned based on operational needs. Candidates must have availability to work flexible schedules including day times, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School graduation, State High School Proficiency Certificate, G.E.D. equivalent or trade school equivalent education
  • Fluent English written and oral communication
  • Must have basic Microsoft Office knowledge and how to operate a computer
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Be able to demonstrate mechanical ability
  • Keep accurate records
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • One year of experience in the maintenance of buildings and grounds; OR Six months experience as Utility Worker

Responsibilities

  • Performs general building maintenance under close supervision
  • Performs grounds, maintenance, and minor repair work
  • Unclogs toilets, kitchen and bathroom drains
  • Replaces and repairs door and window hardware
  • Changes HVAC filters
  • Performs general labor work as assigned by the Stationary Engineers including loading, uploading, moving materials, and running errands for projects
  • Replaces light bulbs/lamps and cleans fixtures; changes ballasts
  • Responds quickly to emergency situations and concerns
  • Patches and paints walls as needed
  • Assembles and disassembles furniture
  • Sets up events
  • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practices safe work habits
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Regular attendance required based on business expectations and needs.
  • Complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws, safety regulations and guidelines, Olympic Club bylaws and house rules, Club policies and procedures and Union contracts.
