About The Position

The Utility Engineer (Environmental / Mechanical) supports utility systems through engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and stable plant operation with a high degree of independence and technical leadership. The role works across HPLS functions and external partners to deliver safe, compliant, timely, and sustainable results during project execution and ongoing operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Chemical, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience; level and scope will be calibrated to demonstrated capability.
• Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, analyze information, document work, and collaborate across functions.
• Working proficiency with Microsoft 365 and job-relevant enterprise or technical systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English and work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Nice To Haves

• Professional working proficiency in both English and Korean is preferred.
• Experience with industrial water, wastewater, compressed air, gases, piping, power distribution, instrumentation, controls, or treatment systems.
• Greenfield industrial project or commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of applicable NFPA, NEC, ISA, ASME, environmental, or utility standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage utility system activities throughout engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and operation phases.
• Ensuring alignment with project objectives and operational requirements.
• Review and coordinate environmental and mechanical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure quality, compliance, and operability.
• Monitor and manage utility facilities, including water, wastewater, piping, pumping, and treatment systems, to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
• Participate in field inspections, construction oversight, commissioning, and startup activities to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and engineering standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues while supporting maintenance planning, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
