About The Position

Brazos Paving, Inc. is seeking an Underground Wet Utility Superintendent with large diameter pipe experience (12" and larger) to work for an established sitework construction company in Bryan, TX. We install Domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm drains for a variety of clients. We provide a competitive compensation and benefits package for qualified candidates who have a strong background in Heavy Civil Site and Underground Utility projects. The position is responsible for managing the on-site safety, operations, and installation of sewer, water, and storm drain projects, directing and training field personnel, and demonstrating effective communication with project managers, superintendents, and other governing agencies to ensure on-time and on budget productivity. The superintendent will oversee multiple job sites and have a working knowledge of current project status and issues while building and maintaining strong customer relationships through highly-responsive service, reliability, and quality work.

Requirements

  • Specific experience in underground utility construction.
  • Specific experience in removal, installation, and repair of underground wet utility pipelines and structures.
  • Experienced safety monitor with a full understanding of confined space and trench safety standards.
  • Able to read and understand plans and specs with accuracy.
  • Able to control labor, material, supply, and equipment cost to assure the job is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Large diameter pipe experience (12" and larger).

Nice To Haves

  • Current OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the on-site safety, operations, and installation of sewer, water, and storm drain projects.
  • Directing and training field personnel.
  • Demonstrating effective communication with project managers, superintendents, and other governing agencies to ensure on-time and on budget productivity.
  • Overseeing multiple job sites and having a working knowledge of current project status and issues.
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through highly-responsive service, reliability, and quality work.
  • Assuring that only required amounts of sand, gravel and other materials are used on the job.
  • Planning and monitoring the work so material is not wasted.
  • Planning the next week's job activities to determine the number of crew members needed each day to complete the work.
  • Scheduling deliveries of materials, supplies, and equipment in advance.
  • Accurately completing weekly timecards, daily reports, etc.
  • Cooperating and coordinating with other trades on the job site.
  • Conducting weekly safety meetings.
