About The Position

This role is responsible for keeping the facility clean, sanitary and orderly. The Utility Clerk must be knowledgeable about sanitation and safety, use proper cleaning techniques, and develop thorough work habits. The Utility Clerk works well without supervision, paces their work to complete all assigned tasks in the allotted time, and completes cleaning schedules accurately and on time.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to work independently as well as with the team
Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing conditions quickly
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs
Must be able to bend, kneel, climb, drive, and stand continuously
Must be able to walk and stand for continuous periods of time
Must have sufficient vision, hearing, and speech to work safely and communicate with others
Able to communicate effectively with team members, leads, and management
Able to read and follow written instructions, safety labels, and Safety Data Sheets
TB clearance required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

Prior food distribution, warehouse, or janitorial experience preferred
Basic knowledge of safe cleaning practices and chemical handling (training provided)

Responsibilities

Operate a walk-behind scrubber and powered pallet jacks after completing company certification
Assist with palletizing product
Organize work areas and storage
Clean assigned areas using brooms, dust pans, and other cleaning equipment
Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with Company standards
Handle, mix, and store cleaning chemicals safely, following product labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Clean and restock restrooms and break rooms
Remove trash, cardboard, and recyclables from work areas
Complete sanitation logs and checklists as required
Report spills, safety hazards, damaged equipment, and pest activity to a lead or manager
