About The Position

The Utility Clerk/Bagger provides prompt, efficient, and outstanding customer service by bagging purchases and carrying groceries to customers’ vehicles. The role gathers and returns shopping carts, cleans shopping areas and restrooms, keeps restrooms stocked, and maintains bag racks. The employee may also assist customers, face merchandise, respond to calls for price checks or spills, restock back-shop merchandise, and perform other assigned duties. Work includes going outdoors for carryout services and cart retrieval, with normal exposure to weather and temperature extremes.

Strong willingness to learn.
Normal physical strength to handle objects weighing up to 20 pounds frequently; lift items weighing up to 30 pounds 6–8 times per shift; and occasionally handle items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work outdoors for carryout services and cart retrieval, with normal exposure to weather and temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

Assist customers and provide outstanding customer service.
Bag groceries and carry purchases out for customers.
Gather, collect, and retrieve carts from the parking lot and return them to their proper location.
Clean general shopping areas and miscellaneous spills.
Clean restrooms and keep them stocked with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
Keep bag racks full and return overstock to its proper place.
Face merchandise in the store.
Answer calls for price checks and spills.
Restock back-shop merchandise.
Climb ladders or a stair tower to restock and clean.
Clean the parking lot.
Perform other duties as assigned.
