About The Position

The Utility Attendant performs a wide variety of minor maintenance tasks and other assigned duties related to the general upkeep and maintenance of the Distribution Center. This is a non-exempt position and a member of the maintenance staff. The role has no direct reports and requires no travel. The position works in a warehouse environment. Closed-toed shoes are required.

Requirements

Ability to perform the described minor maintenance and upkeep tasks.
Operate power equipment safely and use safe lifting techniques.
Wear closed-toed shoes in the warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

Help Maintenance Mechanics with light mechanical work, including servicing and repairing hand tools and minor floor machines.
Assist maintenance personnel with installing and removing equipment throughout the distribution center.
Change batteries; maintain battery chargers and battery equipment; keep equipment clean and painted; maintain battery-changing records and submit them at shift end.
Perform light carpentry, such as building racks and shelving and repairing workbenches, and complete minor plumbing tasks such as repairing faucets and landscape sprinklers.
Clear stopped drains and clean sumps and drains as needed.
Perform miscellaneous repairs, including plastering, concrete patching, and minor concrete replacement.
Assist with preventive maintenance programs, including pest control, and update associated records.
Paint required areas and touch up equipment as needed.
Remove cardboard bales from the baler and operate snow-removal equipment to clear assigned walks, roads, and parking lots.
Complete paperwork and requisitions for materials as requested and maintain daily work-order logs.
Clean the warehouse using sweeper and scrubber power equipment, remove building trash using large portable dumpsters, and keep the grounds neat and orderly.
Operate power equipment safely, use safe lifting techniques, and promptly assist with spill cleanup to reduce accident risks to facility team members.
