Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to operate mechanical equipment used for loading poultry
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
- Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
Responsibilities
- Assist in the transfer, minor repair, and servicing of machines and related equipment utilized in the transfer of poultry before or after loading
- Aid in spotting for live haul trucks at farm to ensure safe practices and mitigation of damage
- Operate mechanical loading equipment in compliance with safety guidelines to avoid damage to grower’s housing and equipment; notify appropriate personnel in event of damage immediately once discovered
- Evaluate loading equipment and vehicles while operating and notify appropriate person of mechanical defects or needed repairs
- Identify opportunities for improvement, develop improvement, present to appropriate personnel, and lead or participate in the implementation of improvement
- Wear personal protective equipment in all areas where required
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
