About The Position

The Utility Associate fills in for regular workers and performs the jobs in the assigned area or department as needed. The associate trains new and current workers on area jobs and skills. All work must comply with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and applicable local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations. The role includes a Monday–Friday, 1:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m. shift and pays $18.95 per hour. Benefits are available from day one, and on-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

Basic math skills.
Ability to perform one or more functions of the deboning process.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, lift up to 60 pounds, repeatedly lift 10 pounds, climb steps, and frequently kneel, crawl, stoop, and bend.
Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45°F/4°C) and around raw, live animal odors, noise exceeding 85 decibels, CO2, and moving production equipment.

Responsibilities

Fill in independently and perform work when a regular worker is absent from their workstation.
Distribute knives before the shift, swap knives during the shift, and collect knives at the end of the shift.
Set up assigned production lines with stands and ice.
Train or cross-train incoming or current workers on new skills as needed.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area around the assigned line.
Follow company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and applicable local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform other duties as assigned.
