About The Position

The Utilities Technician supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility infrastructure and utility systems through preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and general facility upkeep. This role is responsible for maintaining building systems, supporting plant safety and regulatory compliance programs, and ensuring the facility remains clean, organized, and operational. The Utilities Technician works closely with maintenance team members, contractors, and vendors to support daily operations while adhering to all safety, food safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Requirements

One or more years of experience in maintenance, facilities, utilities, or a related field.
Basic mechanical aptitude and proficiency with common hand and power tools.
Basic computer skills and the ability to enter and maintain maintenance records.
Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), food safety, GMP, and sanitation requirements.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and during the olive harvest season which is October through early December as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a food manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Knowledge of utility systems, including compressed air, water, HVAC, and building support systems.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order management.

Responsibilities

Performing routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on facility infrastructure, utility systems, and building components, including lighting, plumbing, doors, walls, flooring, HVAC, compressed air, and water systems.
Conducting facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and proactively address issues before they impact operations.
Responding to maintenance requests and completing repairs in a timely, safe, and professional manner.
Completing preventive maintenance activities, inspections, and work orders through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Maintaining accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and related documentation.
Assisting with the upkeep of facility grounds, storage areas, common spaces, and other site assets.
Collaborating with team members, contractors, and vendors to support maintenance projects, facility improvements, and daily operations.
Overseeing and supporting the facility fire suppression system program, including required inspections, testing, and documentation.
Performing boiler tenant duties in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
Conducting routine inspections of fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and other designated safety equipment to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
Maintaining safety-designated caution areas, signage, floor markings, and related workplace safety standards throughout the facility.
Supporting plant sanitation, housekeeping, and cleanliness initiatives to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Following all company safety, food safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and safe work practices.
Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company standards.
Performing other duties as assigned.
