About The Position
Under immediate supervision, performs routine technical and responsible skilled work in the operation and maintenance of heat drying equipment; other work as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma and extensive mechanical maintenance experience including a considerable amount in the repair and maintenance of heat drying, conveying and pumping equipment.
- Possession of a valid Drivers License
Responsibilities
- Makes regular tours of facilities and checks furnace, drum dryer, mixer, pumps, separator, fans, tanks, conveyors, compressors, heat recover systems, centrifuge equipment, chemical feed systems, truck loading systems and other equipment for proper functioning.
- Records readings from meters and instruments.
- Changes charts, regulates and adjusts furnace, motors, pumps, mixer, valves, and other apparatus to meet changing operating conditions.
- Collects samples of digested solids and dried solids for laboratory analysis.
- Performs specific laboratory tests.
- Cleans, services and maintains furnace, drum dryer, mixer, pumps, separator, fans, tanks, conveyors, compressors, heat recover systems centrifuge equipment, chemical feed systems, truck loading systems and other equipment.
- Reports defects to senior dryer technician.
- Substitutes for senior dryer technician in his/her absence.
