About The Position
The City of Lake Alfred is seeking a dedicated Service Worker II to support the operation and maintenance of our wastewater, water collection, and distribution systems. This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering the opportunity to work hands-on in a vital public service role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of wastewater plant operations experience or equivalent training/experience.
- Ability to operate utility-related equipment and follow written/oral instructions.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment, tools, and occupational safety.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
- Class B CDL required or the ability to attain one within one year of hire.
Responsibilities
- Perform tests and readings on wastewater systems.
- Pump sludge and remove debris from wet wells.
- Conduct operational checks at the wastewater plant, pump house, and lift stations.
- Collect and assist with sample analysis.
- Maintain equipment and keep facilities clean and orderly.
