Kitsap County is seeking a skilled and motivated Utilities Maintenance Worker, Technician, or Specialist to join our Sewer Collections team. This position may be filled at any level, depending on the successful candidate's qualifications, experience, certifications, and demonstrated competencies. You will help maintain the critical infrastructure that protects public health, preserves the environment, and supports thriving communities. This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on public works professional who enjoys operating equipment, solving infrastructure challenges, and contributing to essential utility services. As a member of the Sewer Utility and Stormwater Programs, you'll work on a diverse range of maintenance, construction, and rehabilitation projects that directly improve Kitsap County's wastewater and stormwater systems. From operating specialized equipment and performing underground utility repairs to leading field crews and responding during emergency events, this role offers variety, responsibility, and meaningful opportunities to expand your technical expertise while making a lasting impact on the community. Automatic Progression Requirements Employees hired at the Utility Maintenance Worker or Technician level are eligible for automatic progression to the next level in the series upon successful completion of all required training, time-in-position, and certifications as outlined in the Utility Maintenance Training Workbook.
