About The Position
The Utilities Maintenance Supervisor at Kerry Foods oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of facility utility systems—such as HVAC, boilers, wastewater, and ammonia systems—ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant food manufacturing operations. They lead maintenance technicians, manage contractor activities, and ensure adherence to safety/sanitation standards. This position is located on site at our Harrisonburg, VA facility.
Requirements
- 5+ years of maintenance experience, with at least 2+ years specifically in utilities.
- Experience in food/beverage or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Technical expertise in piping systems, HVAC/R, process control instrumentation, and electrical systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and computer skills (e.g., SAP, PLC systems)
Nice To Haves
- Boiler licensing and Ammonia (refrigeration) certifications are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- System Operations: Oversee boilers, refrigeration, wastewater treatment, and compressed air systems to support production needs.
- Maintenance Leadership: Supervise utility technicians, schedule preventative maintenance, and lead troubleshooting for equipment breakdowns.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all utility systems meet food safety, environmental, and OSHA regulations.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate contractor repairs and support capital project installations.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor energy usage and system efficiency to reduce waste.
