About The Position

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Utilities Electrician for the 2nd Shift at their Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, Indiana. This role is responsible for the electrical troubleshooting and repair of complex domestic and foreign machines and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to troubleshoot and repair PLC and relay logic-controlled machines. Requirements

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electrical repair of machines and related equipment.
Experience with boilers, P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, furnaces, washers, ABB robots and substations.
Experience with troubleshooting and repairing PLC controlled conveyors and machines.
Experience with AC/DC analog and digital drives.
Experience with Low, Medium and High Voltage Switchgear.
Ability to demonstrate intermediate or higher proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical prints/schematics.
Basic mechanical skills.
Ability to operate basic tools to complete the job.
Self-starter and self-motivated individual who works well individually in a team environment.
Ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, and technical environment.
Ability to work in heights and confined spaces.
Must be able to pass the color blindness test.

Responsibilities

Electrically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machines and related equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair PLC and relay logic-controlled machines.
Repair P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, furnaces, large part washers, ABB robots, and other equipment in a large industrial Assembly environment.
Repair PLC equipment with Siemens, Allen Bradley, and a variety of other controllers.
Repair AC/DC analog and digital drives, including Siemens, Allen Bradley, and various other drives.
Perform Substation Testing, Cleaning, and preventative maintenance.
Demonstrate basic mechanical skills and the ability to operate basic tools to complete the job.
Work overtime opportunities to support production demands.
Work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, and technical environment.
Perform frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hours.
Lift 40 pounds.
Withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.
Work in heights and confined spaces.
Pass the color blindness test.
