USPS Delivery Contractor - Sackets Harbor, NY
About The Position
AEXP Express Corporation, a leader in Contract Delivery Service for the United States Postal Service, is seeking applicants for a mail delivery driver/mail carrier on a United States Postal Service mail route in New Underwood, SD. This is a full-time position, working 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday, except federal holidays. The estimated daily hours are 10 hours or less, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. The contractor will provide their own vehicle and will be responsible for a 94-mile daily route (47-mile delivery route). This is a 1099 contractor position, paid monthly at a rate of $330 per day.
Requirements
- Must have legal documentation to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds
- Must be able to work and safely drive in all types of weather conditions
- Must reside in the area or neighboring town/city of New Underwood, SD
- Must have a qualifying vehicle (Minivan/Cargo Van with at least 120 cubic feet of cargo capacity & less than 5 years old) and minimum liability insurance
Nice To Haves
- Former USPS employees/contractors (Highly Recommended)
- Candidates with Minivans and Cargo Vans without a center console for passenger side mailbox delivery (It will be hard to do the route if you do not meet this recommendation but still possible)
- Must be available to start immediately
Responsibilities
- Sorting mail and packages in delivery sequence for active mailboxes
- Loading mail and parcels in delivery sequence into a delivery vehicle
- Delivering mail and packages to customer boxes along an assigned line-of-travel
- Dismounting if required to deliver parcels, Express mail, and other accountable mail items
- Other administrative duties are required
