About The Position

Decision Technologies seeks a qualified USMC Radar Field Technician to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The candidate will provide direct technical support to the Government In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for USMC Land Based Radars. In this role, the candidate will provide expert technical advice for the operation, training, maintenance, and repair of deployed systems. In addition, the candidate will provide technical assistance to fleet Marines in the initial setup and operation of newly deployed systems and will provide refresher training as required; provide documentation of the results of maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution actions; provide remote support and/or on-site troubleshooting and repair in response to requests for technical assistance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating and maintaining ground-based air defense radar systems (e.g., MRADR, AN/TPS-80 G/ATOR, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with radar theory, target acquisition, and electronic warfare principles
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuitry, RF systems, and mechanical components used in radar platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and troubleshooting guides.
  • MUST HAVE Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Military Experience (USMC or DoD Radar Systems)
  • Experience working in joint or combined arms environments
  • Experience with USMC air defense systems such as AN/TPS-80 G/ATOR, AN/TPS-59, or involvement in Marine Air Command and Control System (MACCS) operations
  • Practical experience with Air Defense/Surveillance Radar (AD/SR), Air Traffic Control (ATC) Radar, or Ground Weapons Locating Radar (GWLR) operations
  • Formal Technical Training or Certifications
  • Completion of a military radar operations/maintenance course (e.g., 5948, 2887 MOS school, or equivalent)
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Electronics Technician certification (ETA/I)
  • Familiarity with Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Concepts.
  • Understanding of layered air defense, sensor integration, and joint tactical data links (e.g., Link 16, CEC, or JREAP protocols)
  • Experience with Tactical Data Systems and C2 Integration
  • Proficiency in systems such as CAC2S, TAOM, or other Command and Control (C2) platforms that interface with radar systems

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering efforts related to the development, testing, and analysis of System upgrades, replacement, or modifications
  • Analyze requirements, develop acquisition documentation, and support configuration management of documentation
  • Recommend, review, and test Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for engineering accuracy and ability to implement in fielded systems
  • Provide support in Test & Evaluation efforts for AN/UPX-44 Identification Friend or Foe Interrogator (IFFI) requirements to validate/verify system capability and compliance with AIMS Certification
  • Provide engineering task/project management for the Radar Engineering Team and provide technical support for the fielding of the production system to USMC Units
  • Assist in the development of training curriculum or curriculum updates
  • Participate in testing and evaluation of G/ATOR system improvements and new software baselines, documenting test results and recommendations
  • Participate in maintenance procedure changes
  • Participate in technical documentation review and modifications
  • Perform post-installation light-off and testing
