About The Position

The Usher position is responsible for ensuring a positive experience for fans attending events at the ballpark. This includes preparing the seating areas, assisting fans with finding their seats, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the assigned sections throughout the event. Ushers play a key role in crowd management and contributing to the overall atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Attend the Usher and Ticket Taker game day meeting to learn about specific events.
  • Read game day notes provided by Front Office Staff.
  • Report to assignment immediately following the game day meeting.
  • Inspect assigned section to ensure seats are clean and free of garbage or debris.
  • Wipe down seats.
  • Inspect area for standing water and notify the cleaning crew if water removal is needed.
  • Acknowledge and greet fans approaching the section with a smile after gates open.
  • Seat fans by reading their ticket, walking them to their seat, and wiping the seat with a chamois.
  • Walk/Inspect the stairs of the section after every half inning during the game.
  • Collect trash and recycling with bags after the 4th and 6th innings.
  • Survey sections for unauthorized fans.
  • Watch for any fan standing against railings behind each section.
  • Assist with leading the crowd in cheers during promotions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
