About The Position

Garmin is seeking a full-time User Interface Designer Intern for summer 2027 at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. The intern will deliver high-quality visual graphics for Garmin products, learning to prepare software-ready image files, collaborate with user interface designers and software engineers, follow established processes, and manage multiple basic projects.

Requirements

Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or another related field.
Excellent academic performance; a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 is expected as a general rule, with demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge.
Proficiency in, or ability to learn, imaging formats, screen technology, quality control, and asset output.
Proficiency in, or ability to learn, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Team-oriented, positive attitude, and ability to collaborate effectively to achieve goals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficient organizational and time-management skills, with keen attention to detail and quality.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Blender, or Microsoft Office.
Experience in Visual Communications or Graphic Design.
Outstanding academics, with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.

Responsibilities

Learn to prepare final software-ready image files based on supplied specifications for several types of product lines.
Learn to collaborate with user interface designers and software engineers to make supplied artwork production-ready in various formats, and assist in resolving artwork issues during production.
Learn to follow established processes and guidelines to complete tasks on time.
Learn to manage multiple basic projects in parallel from start to finish.
