About The Position

This is a telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S. The User Experience Designer will assist in the planning, collection, and analysis of key data to uncover insights that inform design and product decisions. The role involves collaborating with engineers, product managers, and other design teams to plan and produce key IT enterprise products and processes. The designer will uncover user needs, friction points, and opportunities through data analysis, generate and prioritize insights, and create/share user journeys based on data. They will also plan and produce IT enterprise products and processes, understanding and acting on key data, including limitations, resourcing, capabilities, and performance requirements. A key part of the role is working closely with the UX Research team to plan, execute, and analyze usability tests with Red Hat products and processes, validate understanding, and uncover gaps and opportunities. The designer will utilize relevant Agile methodologies and tooling (e.g., Jira), build relationships, and communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. They will advocate for access to and communicate directly with end users to understand their pain points and needs regarding products and processes, interact with technical issues and reported bugs to improve products and user experiences, and understand and socialize the user’s end-to-end journey to uncover opportunities for improvement. Additionally, the designer will understand and align to key industry standards around reporting, costs, and security needs to provide optimal user experiences.
