About The Position

This role focuses on user experience research within a mission/IC environment. The designer will be responsible for conducting various research activities to inform product development and strategy. The position requires a blend of qualitative and quantitative research skills, with an emphasis on direct user interaction and data analysis.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience conducting usability testing, interviews, and/or contextual inquiry directly with end users.
  • Comfortable assisting research sessions alongside a UX lead.
  • Working knowledge of both qualitative discovery methods (usability testing, contextual inquiry) and quantitative data collection methods (surveys, analytics review, A/B testing, card sorting, tree testing, session observation).
  • Strong note-taking and data organization skills where they are able to capture and structure raw findings accurately for leadership synthesis and analysis.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented execution of research protocols with minimal need for independent research strategy or stakeholder presentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience independently running research studies end-to-end (objective-setting, study design, execution, and synthesis) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with quantitative data collection methods is a plus.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguous, evolving requirements typical of mission/IC environments that is able to define research questions when none is handed to them is a plus.
